Wheelchair lift and stair lift inspections
When a new wheelchair lift or stair lift is installed, it can only be used once it has passed a rigorous safety inspection (acceptance test). It is our belief that an acceptance test is one of the most important inspections, and the responsibility of checking that all safety aspects have been properly addressed is something we take very seriously. Similarly, if a wheelchair lift or stair lift is modified, it must be retested before use can be resumed.
Once in service, most often no other inspections are required. However, whether a wheelchair lift or stair lift does require recurring inspections depends on the rules in your local jurisdiction, and may reflect the location and use of the device. Even if your jurisdiction does not require additional inspections, it is highly advisable to have the device inspected on a regular basis for the safety of all users. Overlord Services can assist with any type of inspection, and on all types of wheelchair lift or stair lift. If it is necessary to have your wheelchair lift or stair lift installer or maintenance mechanic present for an inspection, we are happy to coordinate make those arrangements at a time and day convenient to you.
All our inspections are performed to appropriate National (ASME) code specifications. You will receive a detailed inspection report, which we will also send to your City or County Building Official, where applicable.
When the wheelchair lift or stair lift has passed the safety inspection, we will issue a Certificate of Operations, if that is not provided by your municipality.
If you have any questions regarding any inspection of any device, please contact us. We would be delighted to provide you with any information you may need.
